Those are not heats. It says performance list. Unless, they are running the meet like the sub sections now with three heats and heats seeded slow to fast. That is not what it says on the NCS websit.e

You are correct. Performance lists the are.

So let me get this right. The NCS splits up the fastest runners and then chooses who goes to state with no finals? So the best dont race each other? And there is no section champion? And I thought the CCS qualifying needed to change. That is a complete joke!

Could you imagine the Olympics just combining times from a semi final to find the top 3?!? That is crazy! Slow to fast heats would make more sense.

No. NCS follows the state meet format with the semis on Friday and finals on Saturday.

Oh ok, they do it right then. CCS is still the screwed up section. My bad.

It it the right way to select the athletes who can handle that kind of double. It is not however the best way to maximize the numer of qualifiers by hitting state at large times.

lol @ ccs guy who thinks ncs sends runners without a race

Albert Caruana said...

That's not unusual. Do you know the format of the SJS? NS?

Probably thought you guys used to do stupid things like this... Oh wait, you did.

From what I am told, the athletes who fell in the fast heat at Tri-Valley were given another chance to run. Any who beat the automatic qualifying time (1:58 ish) would advance to MOC.

The athletes ran Wednesday - I believe four ran faster than the 1:58 AQ

To bad none of the other athletes in NCS who stumbled, fell or simply had a "bad day" at their area meet were given the same opportunity to "time trial" their way in to MOC.

File a lawsuit. Im sure you can put a hold on NCS until the courts figure this out. That way everyone suffers instead of just 4 runners from the same team who chose a poor strategy.

Soooo about the live results from ncs not being too "live"...

I just noticed. Ugh!

Any news anyone? I heard there was a clock problem at the very beginning but i wouldn't think that it would effect the online streaming of the results... Someone text mike elliot!!

Can someone help me out here... I see only three Campolindo girls have qualified for the NCS Meet:

Carrie Verdon (1600 / 3200)
Rachel Johnson (3200)
Juliet Farnan (1600 / 3200)

With cut off times of 2:25, 5:24 and 12:04 and such a dominant team in cross country where are they?

With 2 of the 3 NCS entries seniors will they be hurting next year?

Or is this just a rebuilding year? I have followed Campolindo and heard their coach speak down south and am wondering if the training he does really works. Meanwhile Anna Maxwell who doesn't run over 30 miles per week but focuses more on intervals is really moving.

Thoughts?

Well now I just feel bad for the kid. Three races and the emotions take its toll.

Just shows that you never know though.

ehh don't feel too bad, he's got the 4x4 still and i bet he's ready to roll on his leg.

How is it that Holmgren, Hardy, and Wilke ran MOC trials? I thought only the top 7 moved on from NCS Tri Valley, and I didnt hear of any scratches

it is not right that the san ramon athletes got a second chance and competed today. follow the rules!!!

So much for Holmgren stepping up in the 4x400. Looked like SRV got off to a good start, but Holmgren gave away the 2nd position on his leg and did not respond. Saw the 800. Looked like he gave up with about 300M to go. Not competitive at all in his race. Poetic justice that he finished last today? Thought he would really respond with a better relay leg. I think the week drained Holmgren physically and mentally. SRV boys 4x400 ended up 9th and missed qualifying for the finals. Tough break for this team after their 3:22 last week.
