will there be another list like this after state and after the season is completely over?

Following the state meet, I will post the top individual and team times for Northern California schools.

how come on Dyestatcal, Davis is ranked to do better than Skline and Monte Vista?

If you get 10 people to rank XC teams, you will probably get 10 different lists.

Based on what teams ran at their section final, Skyline and MV both came out ahead of Davis when you convert all their times to the Woodward Park course.

How that translates to the uber competitive Division I field, we'll see.

2 Questions.

1. On the dyestat rankings, it said you had a say in them, according to what everyone (and yourself) said, would MV be on the cusp for a possible top 10 performance?

2. If MV and AV continue to have another good race at State, is there a good chance there will be more than two spots for the state meet next year?

Connor,

I offer my suggestions for the state meet rankings and in the end it's Rich's call where all the teams end up. To answer your question, yes MV is on the cusp of the top 10 based on your team's performance at NCS.

The state meet berths are determined with the following criteria in mind.

AUTOMATIC TEAM ENTRIES (Article 1701)
Team entries into the state championship meet are based on a formula that includes two
factors: 1) An established baseline providing a minimum number of entries for each
section. 2) Additional entries based upon the most recent four (4) year history of the
section team performance in each divisional race. No section shall have more than seven
(7) team entries in any divisional race. (Federated Council May 2003)

I am not sure if the changes would occur next year but yes the success of MV and AV at the state meet would benefit the NCS in Division I in the future.

jeez. no respect for ncs in D-I boys at dyestat. and it looks like you had little say in D-II. sorry about that. a little extra modivation for our team i guess.

Good luck to all NCS guys and girls saturday!

How is Woodcreek ahead of Ptown in State rankings????? Strong front runner for Woodcreek but the other two guys have fallen off dramatically in last two meets. They were separated by 10-15 seconds early now it is 30-40 seconds. Lockert was up with the trio early. He has 4 guys following him on good days in 30-40 seconds.

Let's let the state meet results speak for themselves.

Good luck to all the Northern CA teams in Fresno.

I think the results have spoken. Especially in D2. Both ranked teams placed higher than they were ranked.
