Will there be individual rankings out before or after the Mt. Sac weekend? I don't mean to sound demanding and I know that the meets this weekend are important indicators of progress thus far.

They will be posted before Mt. SAC this weekend.

Anyone know the enrollment difference between Miramomte and Campo?

Albert Caruana said...

According to the NCS website, Campolindo has an enrollment of 1303 while Miramonte has 1240. The number that separates Divisions III and IV is 1274.

I wouldn't count out Granada in Dll.

Albert Caruana said...

I don't think anybody is counting out Granada. Those are the current rankings at this point in the season.

Heritage has been on the rise this season

Why are James Logan's girls ranked so high at number three?

Albert Caruana said...

I have ranked James Logan based on information that I have received. The rankings will be updated around league championship season and we will find out if these current rankings hold up.

D2 boys is flat out loaded this year. Wish we could see an exemption for a fourth team at NCS based on the quality of the top teams in this division. I called out to watch for Clayton Valley Charter last year as the teams entered the last part of their league meets. They were no where in the pre season rankings and made it to state. This year, D2 has 5 very good teams. Three at extremely strong, and two are very strong. Could even make a case for more than two as very strong. CVCHS just had three guys go sub 16 at Mariner last weekend. Monte Vista beat Dublin in league meet after Dublin was dominating in earlier invitationals.......it's going to be a crazy NCS meet in D2. Fresh legs and no illnesses will play a big role in who comes out top three and advance to state.

It seems that in boys D3, the top three are pretty much decided, but the fourth spot is pretty up for grabs. It seemed like Las Lomas had really pulled away, but Northgate beat them yesterday, so it will be interesting to see what happens at NCS with those two

What happened to the Valley Christian boys this year? There were some good rivalries with Riordan and should have battled for the CCS title this year. They didn't even make CCS and they looked to be the favorites to win D3 pre-season. What happened?

Marin Academy beat out Lick-Wilmerding at their BCL league meet. One of the Lick runners didn't do as well as he could've, but Marin Academy is looking better as the season advances.

Albert, will you be doing individual rankings as well?

Albert Caruana said...

The top individuals will be posted as well in each division.

Wasn't there a big change in the NCS Divisions in effect this season? So how did that play out for the teams involved?

Love the NCS and can't wait for the rankings. Will we be getting something for the CCS this coming Saturday?

I think it's pretty clear that the new NCS divisions have made Division II incredibly tough. Some very good teams will not be going to state in that division this year. I think Division III also got a little bump up with the addition of a couple of teams like Maria Carrillo, Redwood and Alameda. Division IV also got a little deeper with the additions of Bishop O'Dowd and Miramonte. Division V remains the same with the same contenders and the one addition from a previous Division IV competitor, Brian Schulz.

A CCS preview will be posted on ca.milesplit.com as well as here. Walt Van Zant will also post his projected CCS meet based on league final times. I am not sure how he will figure out the times of the teams that had to move their league finals away from Toro Park.
