I'm surprised to see Aptos beating SLV, but I see that SLV didn't have Kayla Gibson. What's the latest on that situation? When's she supposed to start competing for them?

7 of the top 9 finishers in the Girls Varsity Championship race were from the SCAAL (Santa Cruz county). SLV, Aptos, Scotts Valley & Santa Cruz.
It would have been nice to see Gunn & St. Francis at the meet. I know that each team have at least one runner that would have been in the top ten.

St. Francis was at Clovis and won D3. Gunn has raced their twice already.

Props to the SCCAL.

By the way: Bellarmine 3-Carlmont 0. CCS is going to be interesting to see if history repeats itself for the5th or 6th time.

When does S.L.V get Kayla Gibson? With her they are easily the number one team in CCS.

SLV with Kaila Gibson would probably be one of the top 5 teams in the state. SLV had 3 in the top 7 at Crystal Springs without her. She would probably have finished in the top 10 had she run. She was the CCS freshman of the year two years ago.

Kaila has trained with rob collins over the past couple of summers and has turned out the same each time frankly. we will see when she comes out, but dont get hopes up.

The SLV girls ran the 2nd fastest team ever and finished 2nd at the meet.
I think it illustrates what a 'team sport' cross country really is and points out the importance of the fifth runner.
SLV's fifth runner ran a great race, but the Aptos girls only had a 24-25 second spread.
I think the Aptos girls ran the 11th fastest team time ever.
I think the records date from 1970-1971, so it was a pretty impressive showing by both teams. What a rivalry!

What I do Know is That Gibson has Not been Training with Collins Until Late July thru August periodically and Nothing prior to this Year from the Comment above. The Big issue is what I've Heard the family has some Big Issue's with AD (Soquel)at school that at has been going on for quite sometime now. They use to be family friends. I would Hate to See a Very good runner not run especially her Junior Year. Hope the issue gets fixed where ever she ends up, especially since it's starting to turn out a family issue.

From what I've heard Gibson's transfer was considered athletically motivated and not running this year.

Rob stop using your crazy caps its not anonymous if you do.

It would be pretty easy to post a comment capitalizing every other word and pass yourself off as Rob.
(Only capitalize the first word in a sentence and proper nouns...)

I hope that those in 'a position of power' don't punish a high school GIRL for the questionable behavior of certain ADULTS!

No one who has posted here about Kaila Gibson's situation knows the truth of the matter. Speculation and rumor mongering are not helpful. Leave her alone.
