I think the American distance team is really going to mix it up with the Kenyans and Ethiopians this year. With Lagat, Rupp, and Jager, that's some serious firepower.

Well in the 1500, Jessica Simpson is the defending world champion. Morgan Uceny was ranked 1st in the world until she fell in the world championship race. Shannon Rowbury had the best finish by an American in the 2008 Olympics. In the marathon, Shalane Flanagan has a pretty good shot at a medal as well. She won a bronze at the 2008 Olympics in the 10000m.
That's just top of my head.
