Girls D3: Santa Cruz is underrated. I'm sure they rave a few 20-21 runners that weren't there. I pick them to be the dark horse to steal a state spot this year.
Once again the Bells prove preseason rankings wrong and take the first meet from the CCS teams. For a down year they are still able to pull kids out of the woodworks and make them produce. Gotta hand it to the coaching staff over there.
Please remember, this list is just one persons comparisons and not the CCS Rankings as determined by a panel of voters - that will be posted later today (Wed).

I think the thing to remember is these are comparisons based on the current stats available.
Santa Cruz is good and will have more runners in the 21 sub range to once again make them a strong contender in D3. And feel free to vote as such in the coaches poll for the Mercury News rankings. But based on the current stats its about right for the comparisons... for now.
As for Bell and Carlmont they were 1-2 in the rankings. Maybe they flip flopped, maybe not. But really, with the talent of their freshman and sophomores they should be a top 3 team every year. They're the Yankees for goodness sakes, how can you NOT be good!
Looking In the newspaper over Cross Country results! Santa Cruz (Hosting) has a way to Go especially since it looks Like SLV had 6 runners before there #1 and 3 in front of Kayla Gibson of Soquel! But then it is a very Strong League of Teams and Individual! So It also looks Like Jackie Stranger (Aptos) did Not Run again, Will they pull her in at the end of the season without racing league meets because of Water Polo?
