Nice victory for Bellarmine but the times were slower than I expected. Any reason for that? If not, then Carlmont has 5 guys under 16:00 at Crystal this season and looks like the front-runner for Div 1 CCS.
I heard it was warm today which may have had an effect on the times. Regardless, Bellarmine vs. Carlmont at CCS continues and it will be another great battle this year.
Looks like if SI had had a great day (Murphy and Cannon running better) they could have possibly beat the bells. Oh well.
San Benito Hollister also had a bit of a rough outing at league but don't count them out of that DI battle...
Just some observations....
Girls:
Presentation pulls off the individual win and the team win! I thought it would be a battle with Lira but Vasquez won by a landslide.
Looks like Pres has a great shot at State, Mitty & SI too.
SHC looks like they will be the favorites in d3.
Boys:
Good battle between Bordoni & Davis, I thought it would have been closer.
Did Bell even run their varsity? My guess is they ran as easy as possible looking forward to Carlmont. Why run hard at league with the title fight in 10 days?
SI looks like the favorites for d3.
Great observations. The individuals and teams that qualified to CCS from the WCAL will all be quite competitive next Saturday in their respective divisions.
Can't wait!
It was the Bellarmine varsity, but Valencia and Deanda (usually #2 & 3) either were taking it easy or had off days. Bells should have 4 and maybe 5 guys under 16 at Crystal Springs. CCS finals should be a great battle!
Talk about the weather difference of one day, Bell would have had 7 guys under 16 if they ran thursday too.
No question that the weather had quite an effect on the times. We'll see who is best next Saturday when all teams run at the same time.
