seriously one of the most epic races ever seen at Spring lake finals. Not only was the Varsity races great but the JV races were fast and exciting too. The place was electic because we all knew it was Luis's time to finally break the course record that has stood since 1998. Piner as a team also blew away the course record that was held by Petaluma who did very well at State their year. Look out at NCS and State championships for Luis Luna and Piner to really show something big. Also congrats to Piner's Kyra Johnson as she one the NBL finals in her first year running cross country! An amazing day to say the least.
The NBL finals was one the fastest ever. There were 12 runners under 16:00. The fastest all-time was set by Piner's Luis Luna in 14:43 and the Piner Team set the all-time team time of 76:59 breaking the 2008 Petaluma team time of 77:49. Piner had 6 runners under 16:00 and there 7th was 16:01. Maria Carrillo and Santa Rosa teams also made the all-time Spring lake team times. Great job for all the runners who ran!!!
