Mt. Sac XC Invite is posted as October 26/27, 2012 on their website.

Why is MOC a week later when they all go anyways? Its a meet of Everyone!

MOE

They should run it a week before like other nor cal sections. huge disadvantage at state and why they never make NXN. Campolindo would be incredible and would have beat Simi and Saugus this year for sure!!!

And yes Chuck is the best coach in the state, no one can come close to how awesome his coaching skills are.

I will add the Mt. SAC dates.

As for the NCS MOC meet, it's the same weekend as the SS meet and I don't see the dates changing anytime soon.

I am really not sure if it's an advantage to have 1 week or a 2 week break before state. I think you can make a case for both.

Shame about Mt. Sac being on the 26/27 most Nor Cal schools wont be able to attend with league champs starting the next Monday on the 29th.

But maybe that's what they wanted anyways.

If it's that late, then many SS schools would skip it as well as their league finals begin before ours. In fact, some leagues have their meet on that very weekend.

Mt. SAC website says Oct 19/20--see

There is an invitational at Willow Hills on September 15. I also believe that is the week of RLS relays but don't know for sure.

Mt. Sac can't be on October 21, that is a Sunday.

Bronco Invitational is added.

I am still trying to confirm the Mt. SAC dates but for now, it's Oct. 19/20.

What happened over on that latest interview? Why is my comment getting deleted when I'm just curious as to what happened there (why would you disable comments on a great story like that)?

Anonymous said...

Yea seriously what happened over there? The amount of censorship on this site is really starting to bug me.

Oak Ridge Invitational will be held Sept 15 at willow hills, SJS championship course.

Anyone ever think of hosting a crystal springs early bird on sept 15 or 22. That would be huge!

Anonymous said...

Now that track is finished.

Any idea of the date for the Mariner Invite at Garin Park?

How about adding some out of state invitationals that are cool to go to?

when are those preseason xc rankings coming out?

Albert Caruana said...

Good idea on the out of state meets.

As for the rankings, I will try to get those going soon. If anybody would like to do any pre-season rankings, please email me at albertjcaruana@gmail.com.

Thank you for all the updates.

the NCS MOC didn't say where it is.... does that mean that the location might be changing?

Anonymous said...

Yes. There are no good courses in NCS. Despite Golden Gate Park, the Napa Valley, anywhere on the coast it is run at a high school over blacktop basketball courts.

No creativity, no good courses, no support.

You'd think in all of California a legit course could be made. Every other state uses golf courses. Not us! This sport is dead!

Anonymous said...

I know Stanford is a mess right now but any idea when the registration opens?

Anonymous said...

On the NCS Cross Country website it says "Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Hayward HS" so the location shouldn't change. And why is Mt. Sac scheduled on the day of the PSAT...

Anonymous said...

i kinda like the NCS/Farmer's course. it's fast and gets the job done. i think its an honest course, and teams generally do very well at state afterwars

Albert Caruana said...

The Hayward course has been used enough years for NCS that making the following list definitely means something now.

What does it mean when a runner is listed as unattached at a college meet?

Nils said...

Re: "unattached runner" there appear to be many nuances:

http://www.runnersworld.com/community/forums/runner-communities/college-running/someone-please-tell-unattched-runner-means

but someone (say N**** R**** at UC D****) who's on their first season may run "unattached" at their first meet, but could run as "part of the team" thereafter, for "a variety of reasons". Sorry this is not an explanation because I don't fully understand this either!

Albert Caruana said...

Most of the time, athletes run unattached in meets during their redshirt season.

Is redshirting common in Cross Country?
