Coming up later today...

Interviews with Milpitas HS runner, Yohaness Estifanos (CCS) and La Costa Canyon HS runner, Ellie Abrahamson (SDS).  I will also post all the newspaper links covering this past weekend's action out on the oval and field.

Any exciting news out there to share?  What was the best performance of this past weekend?  What race are you most looking forward to this coming Friday at the CCS Top 8 meet?  What about the Mt. SAC Invitational?  Who is traveling to the meet and what races are you doing?

performance of the week definitely johannes estifanos at the serra top 7, winning both the 1600 and 3200. great kick on last 100m and ran 9:20 completely on his own, an even split i might add. very impressive

Why are you getting southern section Interviews for a Northern Cal thread, when Northern Cal never gets that kind of respect down south?

As I have mentioned earlier, I am expanding my coverage area and will be interviewing athletes and coaches from down south as well. My coverage of the NorCal area will continue.

I like reading about the SoCal runners. Being from N.Cal it gives us a chance to "get to know" the people we have read about but don't get to see compete very often.

I agree with Anonymous at 6:32 AM. I think it is great that Albert is making an effort to cover more of the state. I used to love going to www.dyestatcal.com too read about HS track and field and cross country but then they seemed to change to a more southern-centric site so reading Cross Country Express has been great for Northern California news. After the merger or buyout of dyestatcal by ESPN, it seems like all that dyestatcal is good for now are just rankings and results.

Some things that have been great about Cross Country Express have been the interviews with coaches and athletes. The fact that Albert is now trying to cover more of the state with the help of xcnation is a good thing. Not only will learning about our fellow runners in the south be good information, it may also help motivate us to be better.

Thanks for the great coverage, Albert! As a track and field and cross country fan, I love the information on your site. The recent Doug Soles interview was insightful and helpful to me as a coach.
