I would like to see a weekly article from local coaches... Help them share their knowledge. On weights, mileage, coaching philosophy, etc. You can rotate coaches, its ok if they are different have a for and against article. Something to make the site more educational. And I'd love to hear from different coaches.

Maybe an ask the experts segment too?

Very good idea. We are off to a good start.

I think it'd be cool to start a results page/archive. Just a side link but one that leads to all the most recent nor-cal results.
Also, side note, we rank individual runners alot but what about team rankings? which teams in nor-cal have strong 'all-around' programs.

Agreed. I'd like to see some Nor Cal Track & Field rankings. Perhaps a weekly team ranking from XC Express.

I know this is a website that is not making the news but rather sharing it but if you want the website to grow you are going to need articles, pictures from meets, results, rankings.

This website has potential to be the best Nor Cal site around (maybe already is) but needs to speak with authority as the voice of Nor Cal.

I do like how coaches contribute from rankings to interviews. Keep those. But it could be cleaned up a bit so it is more like a website than a blog.

A lot of work... and just suggestions. Take them with a grain of salt.

I have to echo the sentiments of those who also believe that this is already the best NorCal site. I think many appreciate what you do. It might be interesting and take some of the load off you to have guest coaches talk about their philosophies and training regimens. An archived results would be great as well as a calendar of upcoming events with likely participants might be nice. Thanks again.

Keep them coming. I will see what I can do with the ideas above. Any more?

I think it would be cool to have articles or interviews about other people besides just the fastest. Maybe people who stand out on effort or inspirational levels. For example at K-Bell I saw a runner who must of weighed 180-190 pounds win his heat and run close to the 5:00 min mark and he had the most incredible kick I have ever seen. With 300 to go he was like 100m behind the leader and he caught him, and like I said this guy was a hunk and he was moving. I think it would be cool to have articles on people like that too. Also it would be cool if we could get someone to record all of the distance races at Invitationals or take pictures because everyone likes to see themselves running! Thankyou.

i love this site and do not have any recommendations. Something you could help me with is providing the link for the Stanford meet live webcast (assuming there is going to be one). i will be tuning in Friday and i don't see where on the Stanford site the live stream is located. thanks!

Maybe you could add polls to the website, so people can vote for "Performance of the week" and stuff like that

I don't have any recomendations, I think it's a great site and again I would like to thank you for all you do Albert!

Hmmmm I really like the Performance of the Week idea! Sure, we may not capture the incredible times or performances at dual meets, but that is part of reporting the times in my opinion and would help promote the exposure of running and also the runners themselves.

and I wouldn't mind seeing what other coaches philosophies and training thoughts are...as long as I don't have to give away any of our secrets (trust me, we don't really have any)!

Inspirational video of the week?

Albet, Set up a forum that requires registration. You can also have dedicated sections/threads too (i.e. training, equipment, coaching, events, sections, leagues, etc.) so all the fanboys and girls (or Army's) can have their say.

How about a list of top 10 or 20 freshman and sophomore times by event.

Anonymous said...

Good idea. Get on that and report back so we can bash you on forgetting someone.

maybe something for frosh/soph rankings at the beginning/end of the season to show us potential future elite athletes in our area

Anonymous said...

Yeah. I agree (because my kid is a freshman) :)

The team ranking thing has already been done on Lynbrooksports.com

I know they don't have Workout Wednesday videos on runnerspace anymore, but I always thought those were pretty cool. Possibly something like that.
