Unusual to have both of these great meets on the same weekend. Why and which one was switched? Loved to see our local athletes compete at both meets but unfortunately not this year.

Arcadia has been on this weekend for as long as I can remember. Stanford moved 2 weeks back this year but I am not sure of the exact reason.

Looks like Rob finally got his article, though not for the girls race.

Stanford's concern is for the college runners, not a high school meet in southern california.

I believe I saw somewhere online that the meet date was decided as to not conflict with the Texas Relays. I can't confirm if that is true.

Have heard from a coach or two that Stanford is trying to phase out, or lessen the high school meet emphasis. This is college meet with high school events sprinkled in. It is a shame that Stanford moved the meet. They know the Arcadia meet is on the same weekend every year. This has nothing to do with the Texas Relays.

Are you serious? You think it has nothing to do with Texas relays, one of the biggest meets in college but everything to do with Arcadia?

Have you ever been a part of a college team or staff? It's their meet. Stanford will do what's best for Stanford. They want to compete in Texas. If they wanted to cut out high school they would not move a college meet to conflict with Arcadia. Their meet is still full. They would simply say its no longer being held.

I personally know the head coach at Stanford and can tell you, it has nothing to do with Arcadia and everything with providing meets to maximize the number of qualifiers to the NCAA regionals.

Stanford doesn't care if two high school meets are on the se day. I mean you have heard of drake and penn relays right? Same day by the way...

above explanation is correct. the venom in it is, i think, unnecessary...
