Former Sacred Heart Cathedral runner, Michelle Gallagher (pictured here to the left courtesy of mom, Margaret Gallagher), ran a fine 1:16:37 (5:51 pace) in today's Rock and Roll Half Marathon in San Jose. Michelle just finished her collegiate career at Iona College in May and now is training for the Seattle Marathon in November. Her high school coach, Andy Chan, is training her for her first attempt at the 26.2 mile distance. Michelle was the fastest Bay Area woman at today's race and won $500 for her effort.
Many of you are familiar with her mom's work behind the camera as many of her pictures have been posted on Dyestatcal (high school) and eliterunning.com (collegiate).
Congratulations to Michelle and best of luck to her in Seattle.
