Stanford Invitation Post Mortem

While I crunch the numbers, feel free to discuss the outcomes of today's Stanford Invitational races.  Who was most impressive today (teams and/or individual)?  What was the biggest surprise?  Who are the NorCal teams ready to compete for a podium finish at the state meet?  What else?

In the meantime, here are the combined boys and girls results for all races:

More will be added as I find it.

I'll just move my prior comment below up here - St Francis girls (SJS) confirmed no. 1. Davis Sr (SJS) girls have momentum and great individual performance by No. 1 runner. Great team performances by both teams - but looks like each team had some "blips" with one of their better runners so who knows what the future might hold . . .

Miramonte girls have made a big jump.. Also redwood looks strong. Battle for state berth?

redwood boys did not look so strong... they're #5 needs to run faster if they want to keep their ranking.

Anybody know why Acalanes ran only 2 people today? That was bizarre.

The Davis,Lincoln, and Woodcreek, battle for a state berth should be interesting. I assume Oak ridge will get in the hunt too

Is Karlie Garcia injured?

Campolindo girls win Stanford in 2010 and 2011 but only ran one girl this year. Are they sick or injured?Could this be the end of "Chuck's Army?"

FYI - D5 boys team Crespi was dq'd as they are a D4 team and "ran down."

I am glad that was cleared up. I am fine with teams moving up and chasing better competition but wasn't pleased to hear a Division IV team ran in the Division V race.

I heard that, too; however the Stanford official results still show Crespi as winning the race. Do they change the posted results for this kind of thing after-the-fact?

The timer would have to be notified so he can make the change. Where was it reported that Crespi was DQ'ed?

As someone posted above, the times were effected by the heat. I think it definitely made a difference for some people's races.

Wasn't the course hot last year as well?

I think the conditions for last year were pretty close to ideal for most races. It was definitely warmer this year.
