Congratulations to Fiona, Cate, Philip and Cooper.
I am curious what are the course records for the Stanford course? Phillip and Fiona posted some amazing times!
The course changed after German Fernandez ran an epic 14:42 in 2008 on a previous version of the course that incorporated a pretty substantial hill. While the new course is certainly easier, Rocha's time is the fastest ever run there by a high school athlete. I couldn't find records of the women's times more than a couple of years back, but O'Keeffe's time was her fastest yet and the fastest 5k in the nation this year.
Kudos to Phillip, Cooper, Fiona, and Cate for their very impressive performances!
I'm interested to know if Cooper Teare's time will put him in the top 10 all-time
list for the current course? His performance is quite impressive since SJND is a
small D5 school.
The course changes almost every year due to something going on on the golf course. Sometimes it's minor but a change.
Congrats to Coop, your kick is working! Cooper Kick Teare
Only course to not change, probably in all of California, is Crystal Springs. It's fun to have all-time lists but these are only valid on a few courses.
Does anyone know where to find pictures from the D5 race at Stanford? thanks
5:18 P.M. FYI. The individul runners who ran sub-15 from 2010 to 2015 appear below:
2010:
Ammar Moussa Arcadia SS 14:37
Sergio Gonzalez Arcadia SS 14:58
2011:
Darren Fahy La Costa Canyon SDS 14:54
2012:
None
2013:
Blake Haney Kern CS 14:58
Joe Hardy Seattle Prep N/A 14:58
2014:
John Dressel Mt. Spokane N/A 14:50.8
Nathan Tadesse North Surrey N/A 14:58.5
Phillip Rocha Arcadia SS 14:59.8
2015:
Phillip Rocha Arcadia SS 14:32.7
COOPER TEARE SJND NCS 14:52.7
So from 2010-2015, Phillip Rocha has the fastest time of 14:32.7
Cooper Teare is the first NCS runner to run sub-15 of 14:52.7 and 3rd fastest in CA
behind Ammar Moussa (14:37). Cooper's time in 2014 was 15:50.7 (almost a minute slower than his current time.)
Is everything OK with Jesuit's Sean kurdy?
