Wow Davis Kid verbal rolled and is fit. Watchout Kurdy you got some competition this year for section title.

At this point, the Jesuit steamroller at Del Oro stands out. On an individual basis, as I expected, Junior Vernau from Davis has hit the ground running, clocking a time almost 1:30 faster from last year. I could be wrong, but it looks like Davis held out 1 or 2 of their top runners (injury?), but their 4-5 gaps will cause them problems against stronger competition. Next weekend is the Jesuit/Davis Jamboree out at Granite Regional, so us NorCal fans will get a chance to see who is in the best early season form. Interesting that two Davis runners finished ahead of Armijo's Grijalva, who has a ton of talent, but is still figuring out how to run against the best the state has to offer (sub-sections last year is a great example). Still expect great things out of him. Davis and Jesuit will compete against each other up to 10 times this season (assuming both go to state), so hoping that their quality and depth push each other to big things this season. Does anyone know about Fiona? Assume that with her long track season, they are taking a more conservative approach to her season (as is Great Oak with Destiny Collins).

Yeah two of their top runners weren't running. Don't know what for, but it could be from a long track season like okeefe.

Ben Roberts and Willie Hall (Davis) are both injured. Fiona rested this weekend in preparation for the long XC season, additionally she has the stomach flu.

Is it me or is Vernau time equivalent to 15:00-15:05 on state course? Anyone know lagoon course and how it converts to woodward? Seems like he could be in running for state title

If you did a straight conversion 3 mile to 5k, Vernau's time would be about a 15:52 5k, but can't find any elevation information on Lagoon Valley classic course, so can't really compare.
