Deserving Honor for Jamieson. He's the one that got this 8th grader into running track when he saw me running around the basketball courts in PE at Terman - little did I know I'd still be running 45 years later. I then ran into Jamieson again in '75 when I was a steepler at San Diego State and he was an AAU official. He suggested, for speed reasons, that I try hurdling the water barrier (which I had NEVER seen anyone do at that point in time). I tried it and realized it was impossible to do. He said, "Mark my words, the world class athletes will hurdle the water jump", he was always ahead of his time.

Thanks for sharing Hank. Today's runners should know his name.
