The Jesuit/Davis Jamboree  at Granite Regional Park
Live Results: http://timerhub.com/get_web_index.php?page=redcaptiming.com/2016/jdxc/
The usual suspects will be in attendance on the boy's side: Jesuit, Davis, Armijo, McClatchy, Placer, Rio Americano, Del Campo and Woodcreek. I would expect Davis to be unchallenged on the girls side.

8 of the top 10 boy's runners at the Lagoon Valley Classic will be mixing it up again with Placer and Rio runners joining the large school teams. Would expect some fast times with the varsity race going off early (9:00 AM) and it being a historically fast course, despite a couple of moderate hills. Vernau won the race last year with a blazing 15:00, which I would expect to be broken on Saturday with Grijalva, Jones, Wiener-Brodkey, Holland and Noah Wallace pushing the front of the pack.
Thank you to whoever posted this in the comment section below.

Feel free to comment on either invitational in the section below. More will be posted up to Saturday's events. If you are attending either Invite and want to share your goals, you are welcome to do so as well. If you are attending another meet, please let us know as well. I will add the info to that meet as well.

Anyone know the status of Toro park for the Monterey invite in October and, more importantly, the CCS? Is the CDF still there, are they transitioning out, when will it be clear for racing?

This is a very good question. I am sure CCS has a plan in place in case Toro Park can't be used this year. They had to move the CCS Trials and Finals to Gilroy last year at the last minute so been there, done that.

Just called the fire command. They are still there and might be through the duration of the fire. The last update showed the fire at 60% contained but growing to the south. A new federal fire team is taking over command next week and they will evaluate the use of Toro as a command center. Basically, all meets, including CCS, are subject to cancellation. Anyone with a connection to the CCS board should let them know that a contingency plan should be put in place now.

When I cancelled Earlybird I gave Steve Filios a heads up at CCS office about the possibility of Toro being closed all fall... we are currently moving our MBL meets as well and are looking for a possible location for our league finals as well if the park is still closed... even after the fire is out crews could remain while they do post fire work to the area... could be along haul...

Nevada Union Invite in Grass Valley happens this weekend.

All you need is a golf course to agree to hold the meet. Or go to Golden Gate Park.

Or we can go to Montgomery Hill and see how hard that course really is!

I recommend that the CCS move it to Crystal this year to be safe and then keep it there permanently to be good. No offense, but when you have one of the best courses in the country in your section, why would you run somewhere else every other year? Make zero sense.

Because rich people who live there don't like cross country meets there. They bought a house next to an XC course but never expected people to use it obviously.
