At the Sacramento invite..read the results and a Jacque Taylor running attached. Is she no longer at UNC or is this a diff Jacque?

Was there wind at dublin? times seem a wee bit slow.

It was not ideal racing conditions. It was dry for most of the meet but it was cold and there was definitely a head wind on the back stretch. Nonetheless, still a great meet and many excellent races.

Race of the meet? The middle school girl that ran 5:10. Who is she? There were a few middle schoolers running with the same uniform - HEAT. Who are they?

Albert Caruana said...

Pleasanton Heat. The following site is a little outdated but it will give you an idea who they are: http://www.eteamz.com/PHEAT/

I have the pdf of the results of the meet with the middle school results at the end. Will post in a moment.

Regarding the Pleasanton Heat, a good number of successful distance runners have come from their program over the years. It's been a great feeder for high school talent.

Better question: What school is that girl planning on attending??

Amador Valley

Just looking at the current stats of the Frosh/Soph classes it would seem that Northern California girls distance runners will be a hotbed of talent for the the next few years:
Anna Maxwell 4:55:34 San Lorenzo 10th grade
Ricky Waters 5:06:88 Cal 10th grade
Annika Green 5:10:56 (AV) (8th Grade
Christine Bayliss 5:15:19 SRV 9th grade

Way to go Girls!!

I don't think you meant Ricky Waters. You mean Madison Ricks from California?

I know we can add more freshman/sophomore girls to that list. Any others out there?

random question. what ever happened to kevin griffith from uc davis. I am surprised he hasn't been on any result sheets in a while

Doug Griffith said...

Kevin transferred to Purdue in January to pursue an Industrial Engineering degree. He is also running track and just finished his first indoor season with his best time being 1:50.8 at the Tyson Invitational. Coming back from a minor foot injury. Plans to run his first outdoor meet of the season in two weeks. Hope to see to him at the Sun Angel Classic or Mt. SAC Relays.

Wasn't there a fantastic freshman that ran cross country for granda last year but she was injured for Track? Don't remember her name but if anyone recalled..what has happened to her.

Albert Caruana said...

That would be Sophie Hartley. She has been injured since her phenomenal freshman xc season and is slowly making a comeback. She ran in the 800 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta.

Sorry, back to the MS 1600 at dublin, what about that Leo Skellenger? Where's he headed next year?
