Good catch. Can we blame the new year?

Miguel Vasquez gets no respect. Dude is legit. 4:16/9:10. I run against him almost every week and this will be his season were he will finally show you all.

How does Vasquez get no respect? He's listed for both 1600 and 3200. Not sure where he ran 4:16 and 9:10 though.

I bring up Miguel all the time. CCS champ in 2010, double qualifier to CCS 1600/3200 in 2012 after coming off an injury. He's bee a bit overshadowed in his league by Ho, and Div 1 with Estafanos, but the kid's been one of the most consistent runners the last 3years. XC and Track. He's always right there. He just hasn't had a real breakout time like McCabe and Ho did in the 3200. His 4:21/9:29 double qualifier to CCS on an extremely hot day was almost as impressive as 9:10, but just doesn't show up so big on the lists. I'll be interested to see if he focuses on one or the other, but he's shown he can compete with the best in both. .

I think the 4:16/9:10 is what he's capable of doing this season. The comment above had some great points. Should be a good mile in the BVAL with Vasquez/Garibay/Corvese and a great 2 mile with. Ho/Vsaquez/ Corvese. Good luck To all!!

BVAL kids race hard way too much. There's potential for Ho, Vasquez, and crew but the need to pick and choose their races.

What's going on at SLV? After an amazing 2012 track season Johnson and Maxwell didn't make it through xc... Will they even be healthy this season to be the favorites?

Hiltz is probably too good to be challenged but will she be healthy enough to defend her title?

Watch out for Noordham in the 1600.

Anonymous said...

I meant Noordam. She's got lots of speed, and could be a factor in the 800 too.
I think I heard that Hacker is running track. If so, she'll be in he mix somewhere.

Speaking of not running track last year. What about Katz? She's definitely going to be a factor somewhere.

Anonymous said...

Sorry. Missed Katz in the 800.

Has Layten ever run for Carlmont in track? It would be very exciting for the PAL and CCS if he decided to this year.

Glad to see Murphy listed. His 2012 results were not a good indicator of his talent, dedication, or desire. If he can put in a training year like he had in 2011, he can be a top contender.

To clarify, I was referring to Grant Murphy. Ciaran Murphy is also a legitimate threat in the event, but I can't speak to his 2012 season - never met the guy.

Anna Maxwell is doing very good, she had some issues at end of season that have been resolved and is quite Healthy now and Very Ready to Roll with some lofty Goals and Will Be Running the Brooks Pr Invite in end of Feb running the Mile! Cody has been training quite a bit and is in probably in Better shape Than last year at this Time! We pulled after he got a slight Quad tear after running Nike Pre-Nationals, he still participated in meets up to League! He could have finished the season but it wasn't worth it Knowing Track and Field is his Big Priority and his senior year and for the Goals we have for Him , it was better two have a Two week recovery vs a 6 to 8 weeks and Go into track out of shape and injured! Oh and ust a FYI: Don't forget Anna 1600 4:48.1 and 800m 2:10.57 because We don't Know what she is Running this Year! Time Will Tell or Very Possible Double plus Cody 1600m Just didn't have opportunity Last Year Know we do!

Precilla Lee = 2:13 in 8th grade. She is legit.

Alright Rob! Great to see you fired up again. Hope the recovery is complete.

Ryan Ernst from Prospect in the 800. 1:57.68 at Top 8 while running a full BVAL schedule and invitationals. Fresh he could be a threat.
