Whitney HS (Rocklin) ran 1:22:53 in race 56.

SJND 1:23:17 with time issues

Props to Amador Valley and Davis for having both teams in the top 4. That's the sign of a good program

SJND actually should be 1:22:46, although the pages wrong results say otherwise

Add SRV to the list of top programs - boys are 2nd, girl are 9th.

SMB's Girl?? Wouldn't they be on this list too?

Can someone answer the question of why SRV ran in the D2 race when they're a D1 school? didn't we establish that running down a division is frowned upon and should lead to disqualification...?

Good question. I am not sure what numbers are used at Mt. SAC to determine the divisions. SRV would not be a Division I team in the SS.

Sm Ran 1:43 and some change

SRV ran D2 last year at NCS. I don't know if their numbers grew but I don't think they've been D1 for awhile.

To those of you asking about SRV in the D2 race, remember that all sections are not created equal. Different sections have different enrollment numbers to determine divisions. Many Northern California schools that are considered division 1 in their sections would compete in division 2 in other sections. Mt. SAC uses an enrollment number of 2260 students as its division 1 cutoff (listed on the meet info site at http://www.cifncs.org/sports/cross_country/files/12CCdiv9-12.pdf). SRV has an enrollment of 2154 (listed on the NCS website at http://www.cifncs.org/sports/cross_country/files/12CCdiv9-12.pdf). 2154 is a division 1 school in NCS, but not for the purposes of the Mt. SAC Invite.

As usual, Coach Ozzie providing total clarity on a topic. Thanks. SRV ran NCS D1 in 2009, D2 in 2010 & 2011, and back to D1 for 2012 based on increased enrollment.

Ozzie - Great effort by your both your teams at Mt. Sac!

Hank,

Looks like you left Davis High out of this calculation. They'd do pretty well too.

hank said...

I'll add them in. Another coach sent me the MtSAC excel file with the Sections filled in and I just took what was given. So once Davis is added in it will obviously change things around. Gotta watch the Giants win first.

My bad, I left all SJS schools out of the listing. I have added them in (and yes, Davis does well).
