Let's get the conversation going. Who are the top 15 teams in Northern California (boys and girls)? Who are the top 10 individuals for both boys and girls?
Only teams and athletes from CCS (6), SF (4), OAK (5), SJS (3), NCS (2) and NS (1) sections.
For starters, here are the latest state meet rankings by division:

campo looks strong on both sides, but im biased
Bellarmine falls out of the top ten? Interesting.
The best team overall all divisions is a toss up against D1 De La Salle 1:21:06 and D2 Del Campo 1:22:22 at Clovis in different races. We wont see them go head to head, but wouldn't that race to see ?
sorry .... Del Campo was 1:21:22
DLS wan't first in their league how would they be first in Norcal?
Luis Luna has to be the top northern runner with Dan Milichman (sp?) and close second. Anyone else set to challenge these two?
DLS's state ranking is based on what they did at the Clovis Invitational.
I think Luis Luna has proven to be the best runner in Northern California so far. Milechman is up there in the top 5.
Chris Kigar of El Camino is the best runner in SJS.
Parker Schuh of Mountain View had the best time at Clovis from CCS followed by Will Geiken of Los Gatos. Kevin Bishop is up there for CCS as well.
Best runner in the Northern Section is Domenic D'Acquisto. He had the fastest time at Earlybird, 2 seconds faster than Geiken.
Who else belongs on a top 10 list of NorCal runners?
Park Deuel of SRV certainly belongs on the list.
Regarding DLS, they were beat by a young but rapidly improving SRV squad at the first EBAL duel meet.
Del Campo and Bellarmine are the two two boys teams in Norcal.
Girls in SJ
Granite Bay SJ
Woodcreek SJ
Oak Ridge SJ
St. Francis SJ
Del Oro SJ
Bella Vista SJ
Lodi SJ
Vacaville SJ
Oakmont SJ
Rocklin SJ
Ponderosa SJ
Nevada Union SJ
Del Campo SJ
Thank you for the girls SJS rankings. How about the boys?
Rushing 15:48 and Nevins 15 :55 at Clovis should be top 3 SJS if not top 10 Nor Cal.
Granda's Sophie Hartley, though a freshman, has got to be in the 5 top individual girls in Norcal.
I don't know what's going on with Bellarmine, but last time I checked, I'd say they are above DLS, but DLS is above Del Campo, especially when you consider one of DLS's scorers missed Clovis for the SAT, and he would have taken 30-60 seconds of the team time.
DLS got beat at their center meet because they had guys coming back from injury/protracted illness. I don't expect them (us, I think my affiliation is clear) to lose in the EBAL again.
Bellermine seems like #1. The rest is too close to call. DSL ran better than Del Campo at Clovis but lost to SRV head to head in the duel meet (and yes, both teams ran everyone). Amador looks strong and improving fast. College Park is solid.
Glad I don't have to figure out 2 - 10...I might be able to name the teams but have no clue on the order for at least the first 5 or 6.
They ran everyone, but DLS's 5th from the Center meet was their second for them at Clovis.... had that been the case on Wednesday things would have shaken down a bit differently..... but I've made my case, the results in the next few weeks will speak for themselves.
So SRV didn't beat DLS, DLS beat themselves? Anyway, Norcal top ten teams probably not in this order, who's missing who should be deleted?
1. Bellermine
2. DLS
3. Del Campo
4. Campo
5. SRV
6. College Park
7. Menlo Atherton
8. Amador Valley
9. Oak Ridge
10. Petaluma
No..... DLS's previously 5th man improved/recovered to the point where he was the second man.
Bellarmine had 5 at Crystal under 16 minutes only three days after a league meet at Golden Gate Park, I think they're easily number 1 as for number 2 probably De La Salle the rest I think could be a toss up.
1. Bellermine
2. College Park
3. DLS
4. Del Campo
5. Campo
6. Menlo Atherton
7. SRV
8. Amador Valley
9. Oak Ridge
10.Petaluma
Somebody asked who was missing. I think Carlmont is up there, Willow Glen, San Benito, Davis and Los Altos. Are there others?
I haven't been able to check out all the team but those seem to be the missing teams right now.
1. Bellermine
2. SRV
3. DLS
4. Del Campo
5. College Park
6. Campo
7. Menlo Atherton
8. Davis
9. Carlmont
10. San Benito
11. Amador Valley
11. Oak Ridge
12.Petaluma
13. Los Altos
You are missing Willow Glen, best team in Division III in CCS right now.

Had WG in my original list then skipped them when putting the list up.

Correct spelling for Bellarmine.
I think this is a significant result which moves up Carlmont ahead of Menlo Athlerton (at least).

Los Altos Beat Willow Glen in head to head competition at the Clovis Invite. Rankings should reflect this.
I agree, head to head is important, missed the Clovis result
1. Bellarmine
2. SRV
3. DLS
4. Del Campo
5. College Park
6. Campo
7. Menlo Atherton
8. Davis
9. Los Altos
10. Willow Glen

14. Oak Ridge
15.Petaluma
SRV is supposed to be having a rebuilding year. Top 6 is currently 2 Jr's and 4 sophomores. Folks have them as #2 already? Menlo Atherton beat them at Lowell. Do we think they have improved that much so soon? They are not ranked in the top 10 in D2 statewide.
I don't believe Bellarmine is the clear #1. They have some good team times, but their lack of a front runner has surprised me. They don't seem like they have any one guy who can score really low in a big meet. Maybe that will hurt them, or maybe not. Regardless it is probably keeping them out of the top 8 or 10 at the D1 state meet. I'll agree with the assessment on Carlmont and Willow Glen though. They always move up throughout the season.
Alameda should be included in the top 15 as their frosh soph team is winning all their meets.
A correction, SRV's #5 man is a senior, Brent Moore. M-A and Bellarmine did beat us at Lowell. Are we improved yes, but I don't know about the rankings. We beat DLS at our center meet but then they ran well at Clovis. Have fun hashing that one out!

menlo atherton rocked toro today just over 82 team time... And Gunn girls are the real deal! They blasted toro!
how about this one?
1. Bellarmine
2. Menlo Atherton
3. SRV
4. DLS
5. Del Campo
6. College Park
7. Campo
8. Davis
9. Los Altos
10. Willow Glen
11. Carlmont
12. San Benito
13. Amador Valley
14. Oak Ridge
15.Petaluma
So, you are putting an unranked team ahead of two teams that are ranked top ten in the State ? Insane ....
Bellarmine is scary good. Even though they don't have a front runner they have a spread that is almost unheard of, 18 second spread at Crystal Springs for their top 5 after a league meet! Until someone from the north beats Bellarmine or at least their times on the same course I wouldn't take them off the number 1 platform yet. It'll be interesting to see how they fair at Mt.Sac in the sweepstake race next week.
1. Bellarmine, without their #5-6 runner due to a stress fracture (DeAnda)
2. Menlo Atherton
3. SRV
4. DLS
5. Del Campo
results from dfal today acalanes girls beat campo. campo boys just beat las lomas.
Those results should be up in a moment. I will post when I find them.
I heard at today's ebal center meet DLS beat SRV and Amador Valley with only 4 of their top 5. Amador Valley stepped up and beat SRV as well showing that they have some real potential.
>> Thank you for the girls SJS rankings. How about the boys?
No one took a swag at this so I will.
Boys SJS
Del Campo
Oak Ridge
Davis Sr
Bella Vista
Woodcreek
Jesuit
Rocklin
Fairfield
Vacaville
Lincoln(s)
I see the top 3 elite teams and then a gap and a lot of excellent teams that are close together and hard to rank. Should be exciting racing at Section!
I just heard that Parker Duel from SR ran 14:45 for 3 miles in LA.
"I just heard that Parker Duel from SR ran 14:45 for 3 miles in LA. "
Deuel ran 14:44 and 8 SRV guys went under 16:00 at Apache. This is a fast course for the front runners. However, it quite a bit more difficult for the pack with 200+ runners on what in many places is a single track with many sharp turns. Impressive performance by SRV.
Here are the results from that meet. Keep in mind that Arcadia HS is the #1 team in the nation.
http://rise.espn.go.com/track-and-xc/california/2010-xc/Results/October/29-Apache-Inv.aspx?pursuit=TrackAndXC
It appears that the Arcadia Park course in that meet is almost 40 seconds faster than Mt SAC. I'm just speculating by comparing runners performances at each invite. Anyone have any solid info on that course?
