To the right is starter Bob Shor perched on his trusty stool as he started one of many races at the Dublin Distance Fiesta. He sadly passed away a few years ago and please take a moment to read a bit about Bob at the links below. He was a great guy!

Why is Liam Anderson not in the fastest heat in the 800?

His PR places him in the second heat.

His credentials put him in the fast heat. In a meet with 2700 runners your putting the National XC champ and State mile champ in a B heat is ridiculous. Not that any coaches don't lie or guess their runner times in this meet :-)

I think Liam running in the 2nd heat of the 800 is fine. He is clearly using this as a workout with the 800 first and then followed by the 3200. Last year he ran 1:59 in the 800 and there should be several runners in that 2nd heat who will push him and make him work in that 800.

I am really excited to see that Kellen Steplight will being running in the fast heat in the 800. Even though he is just a freshman, he has years of club experience competing on big stages and could really do something special tomorrow.

Thanks Brian! But I don't think he's going to run the 800m. At the moment he's only going to run the 3200m. It will be his only 3200 this season. Coach Monk has him focusing on the 1600m and getting ready for the Rising Stars in Arcadia. After that he will start dialing in his speed work and getting ready for the 800m. I heard Dylan is injured. That's a bummer. Kellen was hoping to race him this weekend.

Dan, I am disappointed the boys will miss their chance to go head to head but I am still really excited to watch the 3200. With Surya, Cayden, Kellen, and Collin, heat 14 should be a great race.
