As the Starter for this race I can tell you that the results do not tell the full story. In both varsity races a pack of the top 20 were together for the first loop (1/2) of the race before the "horses" were released from the gate. With some pretty good hills and hay bales, still to go, the packs separated into the top 10 in the boys... and the girls race was basically over with the battle for every position but first). Some awesome opening night racing on a semi-tough 4K course...with temps in the 90's.

Kevin Ostenberg, and his lovely assistant coach Linda (KO's wife) put on an outstanding and smooth running meet (as always). Many, many smiling faces on the athletes showed that they were ready for the start of the season...and it will be a FAST ONE!! Can't wait to see the other results from all of the other first meets of the season!

Thanks for chiming in George. I know Kevin and Linda from their Half Moon Bay time and they did a great job with the Artichoke Invitational as well. They also have "The 4000" coming up on October 6th and from what I have heard, rave reviews about that race as well.

The information for that race is linked below.
