New Team Time Record on the Crystal Springs course for the Bellarmine Bells today

Congratulations to the Bellarmine boys who won the WCAL final today scoring 16 points. Their top 5 boys also ran a team time of 76:10 which surpasses the previous course record mark of 76.15.4 set by the 1985 Jesuit team. As noted by a poster below, all 7 Bellarmine boys are juniors.

Good thing the clock was working and didn’t stop after the first runner crossed. Really could’ve messed things up. 😉

Especially impressive considering the '85 Jesuit team had the Mastalir brothers.

Congratulations to Bellarmine! The best of the best in almost 50 years. Congratulations also to the St. Francis girls for running the #3 team time in course history. It was a historic day at Crystal Springs.

Correct on both comments. All juniors for the Bellarmine boys. They have two years to do something really amazing.

The St. Francis girls also ran the 3rd fastest team time on the Crystal Springs course. Their time of 92:36 has only been surpassed by the 2007 Carlmont girls (91:20) and the 2015 Aptos girls (91:22.9).

All juniors and sophomores for St. Francis girls.

Just a note, Bellarmine scored 16 points (1,2,3,4,6) at WCAL Finals today. Under the picture you state they scored 17.

Quite an accomplishment for both the Bells and and Lady Lancers. It might be first time a girls team has put 7 in under 19 minutes.

3 other teams have had 7 runners under 19 minutes. You can view the entire list here:

Albert, that link only shows the top 5 runners. The comment was correct that the Lancers are the first team to put seven runners under 19 minutes.

You are absolutely right. I should know the difference between 5 and 7. I went back and checked the results for the 2007 Carlmont girls and they only ran 6 girls in that race and the 6th runner ran 18:46. That means that the St. Francis girls are indeed the first team to have 7 girls break 19 minutes in the same race.

And by the way Gianna Mendoza ran an impressive 17:44.3 which is the 2nd fastest time at Crystal this season other than Madie Coles (Claremont) 17:25.4 at Serra Invite. That makes Mendoza the top CCS runner by time over Los Altos' Lauren Soobrian. Just in case no one noticed.

But yes, huge congrats to Patrick and his boys, they've been solid all year and can't wait to see the damage they make at State (along with Saint Francis Girls)!
