Does anyone know why Katie only competed in the 1st race of the X-C season at Ole Miss? Seems drastic to do a transfer to Pacific so soon, considering the mandatory NCAA one-year waiting period for school transfers. She won't be able to compete til Track 2015 season. Maybe she didn't have the grades or couldn't get along the coaching staff. Old Miss isn't exactly a distance runner's paradise for someone of Katie's caliber.
It says she can compete this outdoor season which means Old Miss gave full release.
Does anyone think that she believes she will get same workout advantages and training facilities at UOP than at an SEC school?
Wish people would just give real reason instead of PR BS.
I would think she is closer to her support network, based on her running for Oakmont. She has battled with eating disorders in the past.
She's a good kid. She just ran USATF Jr. Olympics and won in her age group. Like many runners, they deal with injuries. Rather than speculation, if she wants people to know, she'll say.
Moving away for the first time is a big adjustments for a lot of students. She is not the first person to transfer back to a college near her home and she won't be the last.
Absolutely. Can name more who elect to return to the college near home vs. stay across country.
