CCS Freshman boy and girl of the year?
Weren't these already posted?
What coach did the most with the least? Tired of rich schools taking all the honors. I know coaches that don't get busses even to meets, league or CCS. How about some shout outs for those in the trenches, not those with dining on fine china.
The amount of ignorance in your comment is disgusting. Are you serious? You literally just made up a category to take a dig at "rich schools." By this ill-informed label, I'm guessing you mean private. This is coming from a parent who has put through all three kids through public school. What honors are you even talking about? You sound bitter beyond words.
CCS freshmen of the year have already been posted as part of the All-CCS teams. Eric Coyle of Mitty and Julia Bounds of St. Francis.
As for the poster who is tired of the rich schools taking all the honor, you must have missed the part of me asking for nominations.
I always liked the Batman/Robin award.
Girls: Miranda Myers (St. Francis) or Sofia Castiglioni (Davis Sr.)
Boys: James Kinney (Marin Academy)? Although Tyler Olson, Todd Olson, and Jackson Crose were a fantastic top 3 for Livermore.
I'd pick Cameron Tu from Alameda as most improved. Coming back from an injury last cross country season with a 61st place finish at the state meet, to a great track season where he placed 7th in a deep 3200m at NCS MOC with a 9:29, and capped off an outstanding senior XC season with a 10th place finish at the state meet, PRing by almost 30 seconds running 15:29 for a 5k.
Most improved girl: Emi Prim. Coach's award: Bill Gregg. Most outstanding girls' team performance: Davis.
Most improved?
Anna Maxwell...State meet
2012.....197th 24:xx
2013.....Champion! 17:07
She may not be eligible because she really didn't improve, she overcame a physical problem.
Clare Peabody, Aptos. From 4th or 5th runner on her team in 2012 to 3rd at the State meet in 2013.
I second the Emi Prim for most improved. Too bad she couldn't compete in the last couple end of season races, but she had a phenomenal improvement compared to last XC season.
Bridget Gottlieb from Monta Vista for most improved girl. At Crystal, she went from a best of 20:13 as a junior to 17:37 as a senior; winning leagues, 2nd in CCS and 20th at State.
