Another sad loss for our community as former Branson coach, Linda Gill (left in photo), passed away after battling brain cancer for the past few years. Aside from coaching multi state champion Julia Maxwell (right in photo), Gill was an outstanding runner herself. You can read about all her accolades, which included a state championship in the mile in 1976, at this LINK and this LINK. Our prayers go out to her family and friends.

While I've just be back following & Photographing HS XC and T&F since my retirement in 2007. Of all the coaches I have met, no one has impressed me more than Linda. Not only was she an extremely smart distance coach with a State Championship of her own back n the 1970's, but she was one of the nicest most gracious funny people I've ever met.
I'll miss her smile and words of racing wisdom daily and especially at the events where we used to talk. These events just will never be the same with her gone.

Tom, thank you for the comment. I enjoyed all my interactions with Linda as she was always positive and everything she did was to highlight the athletes and their achievements. Another sad loss for our community.
