Jenn Carey BHS and UCSB grad (last week!) today ran for Ireland on their 4x400m Relay team. They took 1st in their heat and 3rd overall in the combined 2 heats with total of 12 teams. Time was 3:38.43 I believe. Not bad for a young women who ran in PALs and CCS just 4 years ago now on little bigger stage. Just a couple of weeks past she PR'd at UCSB setting the school record in the 400m in low .52's! She was always a tough competitor and not your proto-typical looking 400m runner.
I had opportunity to coach her during XC at BHS along with Obbie. Great young woman now I think her team qualified to go to Moscow for the World Championships...
