Congratulations Matt. Very impressive!
Love this video, required viewing for anyone who hopes to make it to CIF next year in this event. You can see the tactics used by both Strangio and Hazell to be at the right place at the right time. It also shows how hard it is to double at CIF, though hats off to Liam Anderson for giving it a go and being competitive in the 3,200 until the end. Already getting psyched for the upcoming Cross Country season where I expect Anderson and Strangio to be more prominent on the national radar.
Last girl to win the 1600-3200 doubble was Sara Bei in 1998, Crazy!
Upset of the meet!
It was definitely one of the best races of the meet for anyone that appreciates the distance races.
