The latest star athlete from the Rowe family smashed a 15-year-old school record in the shot put and five-year-old record in the discus. At a meet with Lynbrook, Rowe registered a throw of 38-2, nearly two feet past the previous Mountain View mark. She later threw a discus 133-9, breaking the school record by five feet. At the Arcadia Invitational near Los Angeles, she bettered her mark in the shot put with a throw of 38-8.75. Rowe finished second at the event, and currently holds the top marks in CCS for both the shot put and the discus. Rowe’s older brother, Garrett, was a two-time Mercury News runner of the year at Mountain View.
