Great Review, Albert...thank you!
For D2 Girls, think CVCHS should be thought of. They faced off head to head vs American and significantly scored better. Maybe a couple American runners weren't present, but the scoring differential was pretty big. Hoping the ranking isn't purely PR based. As well, CVCHS individual Katie Buechter will be in that mix for state individual qualification.
Thank you for the additions. I think I have a good grasp of most the top teams and their individuals. I am sure I missed a few contending individuals who will be vying for the state meet outside of the auto-qualifying teams.
Does anyone know whether the NCS has does anything to the Hayward course to ensure it holds up better in the event that the course is still wet on Saturday morning?
Yes, they changed the course where the worst areas were coming out of the back loop. The areas that were extremely muddy last year are bypassed with a straight line. Coming down the steep hill was also straightened out
Worth noting that the worst areas from last year are still part of the new course. The adjustments have generally straightened the course, eliminating unnecessary turns over the nastiest areas, but there is still the potential for a deep mud pit coming out of the back loop. Also essentially unchanged is the turn at the top of the hill where many athletes were wiping out in the later races last year.
It doesn't look like it's raining again the rest of today and tomorrow, so hopefully there will be great conditions for racing tomorrow.
