Was part of the coverage of the Sacramento State Classic where the Elk Grove teams and athletes were ordered (by their school district) to leave immediately. My understanding is that this was based on one family self quaranteening in a district of 60,000 students. One of the craziest things I have seen in high school athletics. Stanford is closing its campus, having students take online courses and restricting capacity at their venues. Events like the Stanford Invitational are under risk of being cancelled and you have to wonder about an event like the Dublin Distance Festival and meets like Mt. Sac and Arcadia down the line that bring in thousands of athletes, coaches and fans from all over. Obviously the safety of the athletes is, and should remain, foremost, but there does not seem to be any consistent process for handling this.

The chances of the Stanford Invitational happening have got to be very slim. Not only is Stanford shut down now but Colleges all across the country have explicitly stated that no university affiliated travel is permitted to areas that have declared a state of emergency and Santa Clara county is specifically mentioned. If there are no colleges allowed to come then they will obviously cancel the meet. The numbers here aren't going down anytime soon- just look at the climb in Italy's cases in the past two weeks.

We survived Stanford dropping their XC meet and we will survive if they cancel their Track and Field Invitational.

But the Stanford Invite Merch is kinda saucy doe.

Kind of under the radar, but in SJS, Placer is visiting Vista Del Lago on Wed (3/11/2020).

This will be a meeting of XC State D2 & D3 champs with Klos and Chamberlain battling in the 1600. This will Klos' first ever track meet and based on their XC success, they are the 2 leading contenders in the section for the 1600/3200.
