Kellen Steplight, who is in the 9th grade, ran a 1606

I saw that. Excellent time for a frosh.

Saint Francis is having a hard time recreating the magic of last season. 6th place at Clovis with some key teams missing. Anyone know what’s going on in Mountain View?

It's October 6th. I wouldn't write them off just yet.

I see that St Francis only ran 6 runners and that Juan Pablo Garcia didn't run. He's a key runner for them. Eng also was pretty far behind Colonna, so he either had an off day or is still working his way back from his injury. Albert is right that it is still early.

@4:43 SFMV started the season with the second best team time ever at Toro, which was in line with their 1st and 3rd record times from last year. At Stanford they were missing their #2, and today they were missing their #3. If they can get everyone healthy by CCS and State, they should be fine. Colonna followed up his 15:21 5th at Stanford with a solid 15:23 11th at Clovis. Not sure why people were giving him a hard time after his Earlybird finish but I guess that’s the nature of this blog.

Absolutely. You never see people offer their opinions on twitter, facebook, Instagram...etc. Just this blog.

I’m not on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram so I’m not sure how much the commenters there discounted a solid NorCal runner but I am willing to keep an open mind about it.

I was just commenting about the nature of this blog comment. Where else can people talk cross country aside from this blog? As long as people don't disparage high school students, it's an open forum.

Did SF only race 6 or did someone not finish? They have a solid JV team, why not bump someone up?

Frosh Hope Bergmark (Amador Valley) 11th in 18:04 - 2nd NorCal girl after Riley
Isabella Fauria 18:16 for 17th still - on the comeback trail
Frosh Cate Joaquin - 19th in 18:22 - 5th girl from NorCal

Awesome. Thanks for the adds.

SF only raced 6. Garcia did not make it to the start line.

Nice races from the Tavella girls from SRV who have now placed 1-2 two weeks in a row (Stanford and Clovis). Kate was 8:14 and Emma 8:15 yesterday. Junior Kelli Wilson also had a strong performance at Clovis running 18:25, after missing some early meets due to colds and injury.
