According to MercNews article, Ben Heck is "no longer with the Carlmont team". What? The #1 runner for CCS champs quits before the State Meet? Or more likely, kicked off the team by coach for violation of her "contract". The drama at Carlmont continues!
The coach seems to be doing a great job as shown by both teams performing well at CCS, as well as individual runners like Jessie Petersen... I don't see what is the problem anymore...
I think it means that he probably went somewhere for thanksgiving and therefore can't run the state meet. By now I'm sure that the coach and the runners are on terms with each other, and let's be honest she wouldn't kick off her number one runner right before state.
Congrats to all who competed, you represented Nor Cal in absolutely spectacular fashion. Damn good show everyone, damn good show. What a season. I wish good luck to all of you, in your future endeavors, in both running and life.
