Question of the week

How did you get your start in running?

I always find it interesting how different athletes got involved in either or both Cross Country and Track and Field. You can check out all the interviews that I have done since 2006 at this link:

Pretty standard, everyone on my soccer team ran cross country in 7th grade, so I did too, ending my ability to watch college football

I was fat. And eventually became faster. Then I had kids and got fat again. But I still love running.

Was in field events at first. Got into trouble and the coach entered me in the longest event their was for some punishment. Then I became a distant runner after some great success! Still continued a few field events (Javelin & LJ) through high school though.
