Did they use current McFarland HS runners in the final scene when they showed the real guys running during the "where are they now" shot?
Not sure about current runners but definitely runners from the era of coach Jim White and the state championships.
They had some younger HS age kids running in that scene. I thought I recognized them from some invitational meets. Pretty cool if they used current McF kids in the movie.
Many of the runners are/were collegiate runners for Master's College in Santa Clarita.
"Using this technique, the coaches were in charge of selecting runners who could look like a high school runner. Among those chosen were former Master’s cross country alumni, current athletes at the college and others throughout the Santa Clarita community."
For more info on who "coached" the runners in the movie...go to:

They had to get college kids to run in the races with the actors who portrayed the McF kids in the movie. I think some of them were in their 30s so older kids had to be used in those scenes. What 12:52 is asking about are the obviously younger kids who ran with the REAL McF guys at the end of the movie when they were telling the audience where the real guys went to college and what they are doing now.
