You can look up by age group this year. For the girls soon to be freshman at Santa Cruz beat Peabody & Gibson.
Edwards and Foster top runners for the boys, CCS alumni McCabe took the age group with a high 31.
Peabody, Gibson Where Just Running it for fun with Friends, said prior to Race just training thru! Don't want to take a chance and Get Injured. Xc More important than a Road Race. Santa Cruz Right, History Proves they always seem to Quit there and get Injured! Edwards is a Stud, will be a Great Catch in College, Just needs to really work on the Form!
Santa Cruz athletes quit and get injured at Wharf to Wharf? Rob, come on, after Anna's bomb in cross country last year and the numerous injuries there at SLV. After Peabody's lackluster xc season, Hiltz fracture and Gibson failing to make CCS again, you throw insults at Santa Cruz? Why? Fact is I doubt running 6:20 pace for 6 miles was a jog for them. Great runs for them all, but no one was cruising and no need for insults. And fact is 37's for a hilly 6 miler for a soon to be freshman is fantastic. She passed by 3 miles in the 18's and kept going. Pretty good if you ask me.
Is the soon to be freshman from SC a 15 year old soon to be sophomore?
Rob, Looks like someone else has your number! Why dis a talented 'soon to be sophomore'?
And what's your beef with Santa Cruz High? Anna is a great runner, but her form could use some improvement. Why not start there?
Am I missing something...? Where does it say "Rob" as the author? Agreed, 6:20 is not just a "jog". But "hilly"...? Not sure I would call it that unless the course has changed in the last 20 years. Chancing an injury for XC in July...? A bit premature I would say, if you have to "watch" yourself in July then you are a porcelain doll for XC - as the Aggies would say, "Walk it off cry baby". IMHO
hank
we ran 6:20s for 12 in practice this weekend - no sweat at all in a road race
For being the best in the section I think Edwards form is just fine. But that's quite a few high schools boys to top 100 though, most from the ccs.
Edwards 32:21 and Foster 32:23 oh boy here we go.
A Little Confused Here! Where Did I Come Into This Picture? Sorry Not Me who posted! I'm Getting Pretty tired of this site and I have someone tell me My Name is showing up on Post that I Didn't Post! I'm sorry, but I can see where the assumption can be made.
...the entire SLV boys team?
We're all curious... why do you use upper case letters for every single word in your paragraphs? I think that's why certain people on here think certain posts are from you.
Rob, Just tell your evil twin to use upper case letters only at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns. Don't be too upset..I think most people realize that you have had some great teams and are a good coach. Injuries happen in even the best programs: Bellarmine, Aptos, Mt. View, Santa Cruz and yes, even SLV.
All Of The Upper Case Letters for Every Single Word! Get! Really Annoying! And the Exclamation Marks Also!
A lot of people know that You! post Anonymously! If people weren't allowed to post anonymously you wouldn't see the honesty that you see. Everyone would be too concerned with political correctness. There are those few mean-spirited posts, but that's a small price to pay to be able to hear what some REALLY think.
Let me just put it out there that Gibson and Peabody gave all out effort. Gibson for one doesn't put in hardly any mileage during the summer therefore this was a very grueling run for her! Everything you want to know about Peabody's race can be learned by a look at her splits, she went from a 6:10 pace for 2 mile to 6:30 for the rest of the race! The SC girl just is way ahead of them right now.
^ trying to stir the pot? 1/10.
That's what this whole thread is about. I don't mind the anonymous post, but stop beating around the bush. What's your beef with all these programs that you need to call them all out over meaningless summer road race results? I'd only like to know so we can dissect your, or your kid's splits. You guys have the best runners, and best drama out there on the coast.
Don't blame the entire coast-The cause can be traced to One Source!
What's that supposed to mean? ^
Returning the spotlight to the runners there were some great performances. You can tell people are putting in the work over the summer. It is a great test of summer fitness. Of course no one peaks for a 6 mile road race in July.
