Have they always allowed times from the previous year?

Yes.

Yes. Most meets do, including Arcadia.

Some schools barely get a few races in before Stanford. It's the right thing to do. If you were elite last year odds are you're still good. And if not the coach shouldn't enter you.

TBH until Stanford ACTUALLY checks the entries' times, they will SADLY become less and less of a legitimate SOLID Invite since we see athletes competing who don't deserve to be there while honest coaches have legit athletes out of this invite due to their honest entries. Athletes & Coaches have been skipping Stanford so they can focus on Arcadia.

Does Arcadia take previous year times too?

Arcadia does take previous year however, they place priority over this year's times.

Stanford 3k entry standard is 6 seconds faster (for a 3200 time) than the Arcadia 3200 entry standard if websites are correct. That seems odd.

@10:46: Not really. Arcadia has about 5 3200 meter races, while Stanford has 2 heats. You would be able to run in a Friday night 3200 at Arcadia much easier than at Stanford, though the Saturday night 3200's at Arcadia would be much faster.
