From the 2009 CCS 3200m. final. In the picture you can see winner Lance Wolfsmith of Sobrato, 2nd placer Garrett Rowe of Mountain View, 3rd placer Philip MacQuitty of Palo Alto, 4th placer, Mitch Moriarty of Aptos, 5th placer Nohe Lema of Willow Glen (partially hidden) and 6th placer Paul Summers of Gunn. One of the better CCS 3200m. races as Summers recorded 9:13.68 to finish in 6th and 4 runners ran faster than the at large time (9:12.57).

when do u think D.IV NCS predictions will be up?!
Those will be up next. Sometime this week.
Rowe is built like a Solinsky (before weight loss)/Donahue
If Rowe lost some weight he could be a bit faster.
Rowe is probably 5% body fat and naturally very muscular. How would you suggest he trim down, surgery?
He looks bigger than Solinsky and look how much weight Solinsky lost this year.
Solinsky is 6'1" 162 lbs and Garrett is 6'3" 163 lbs. I'll make sure to let him know you guys think he should lose some weight. Brad Rowe
Most badass racing photo ive ever seen. CCS will rule 09
wut about d.iv ccs predictions?
Wow a distance runner over 160 pounds, that is really heavy.
Look at people like Kiprop who are 6+ feet and 130 pounds. This is why Ethiopia and Kenya are so much better than the U.S.A. (with the exception of USA women's mid distance running right now).
Solinsky has probably dropped down to under 150 now (still heavy but not AS bad...).
Rowe needs to lay off the twinkies!!
By the way one of my good friends went from 155 to 135 pounds and subsequently dropped their 5k from 14:18 to 13:4x.
dude rowe is buff, hes not fat.
Let's enjoy the picture for what it is, a great group of runners battling it out in a great race(4 out of 6 are back this year).
In regards to weight, one of the greatest runners ever, Peter Snell of New Zealand, was 5'10 and 176lbs. A runner's body weight has to do with the body frame and not everybody is built like a Kenyan or Ethiopian.
Garrett has proven to be a great racer and has accomplished a lot before his senior year.
His weight is a non issue. Let's move on.
Why doesn't CCS have any good looking boys like socal does??
As for CCS Division IV rankings, check out the following link to see where everyone stands at this point:

I will post NCS Division IV rankings sometime this Friday.
Not only is Rowe one of the best HS runners in CA, he could punch out any skinny Kenyan or Ethiopian.
Yea, he could really punch someone from half way across the track.
dissing a kid who ran 8:55 as a junior?
I'm sure glad no one used the stupid response "stop making fun of him if you aren't as fast as him!" That sure is a dumb response. It means all the sports analysts can analyze any athlete because they "couldn't do as well."
Rowe is an AMAZING runner and is extremely fit! Maybe he could be faster if he was thinner, and maybe he wouldn't be as strong. Maybe he could be faster with some different shoes, and maybe not. Maybe he could be faster with more milage, and maybe it would be too much. There are so many things YOU ALL can do to try and be faster - but slamming one of your fellow runners, in an anonymous blog post, is not one of them! I guarantee not one of you posting here has ever beat his 3200 time...so why don't you worry about how you can get better times and keep the rude remarks to yourself.
These comments would be better served on letsrun.com, go there.
Where have all the hot boys in CCS gone?? There used to be a few back then... like Minaeu (sp?) the one with dreadlocks...
To all negative posters: if you're a CA high school runner, Rowe could could beat you wearing a backpack full of rocks.
No runner close to Rowe's caliber, and there are select few, would be so insecure to post such garbage. Please accept your own mediocrity with more dignity.
Ok folks. No more comments will be allowed for this post. I don't think an explanation is needed.
