The training. The conditioning. The weightlifting. The mental preparation. The years of hard work.

They were all put to the test this morning as Stephanie Brown-Trafton of Galt competed in the final of the women's discus throw at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

The final took place at 4 a.m. today, but the event is scheduled to be part of NBC's prime-time broadcast from 9 p.m. to midnight this evening.
