I'm thinking that the Boys 3,200 is going to be a very competitive race as the field is littered with several of the best cross country runners in Nor Cal, including: Joshua Chu (9:19 indoors last week), Daegan Cutter (9:16), Alex Lamoureux (9:15), Sean Morello (9:00), Nathan Short (9:08) The Boys 1,600 is pretty wide open. Brandon Moreno of Jesuit and Ryan Mitchell of Davis have PRs around 4:13 and then pretty much everybody else is in the 4:19-4:23 range. It's not a stretch to think that Hanne Thomsen, who is coming off a state record in the 2 mile at the New Balance Nationals will likely be a double winner (1,600 and 3,200). Even with strong fields in both of those races the only runner in California who has comparable times is the other record breaking sophomore, Sadie Englehart of Ventura. Cate Peters in the 800 should be fun to watch as well.
The 3200 is gonna be quite the race. I'm excited to watch these great runners. Best of luck!
Agreed on the boys' 3200m. Definitely one of the featured fast heats.
