Sarah Robinson WOW. 1st in the 1600 (by a lot), 2nd in the 3200.

Best double by a HS girl in recent years?

Sarah Robinson only won the 16 because of Anna Maxwell's incident. I think her 3200 was rather impressive though.

Also major props to Anna Maxwell for coming back and finishing second in the 800 after her 1600 race, that took real guts.

I don't think you can say she won only because of the incident. She looked a lot more comfortable at state compared to CCS and if all three runners stayed on their feet, it would have been interesting who would have won. We will never know.

As for her double. Pretty impressive. She ran 4:44.25 and 10:12.40. The have contested the 1600 since 1974 and Robinson's time would have won the 1600 every year except for 1981, 1982, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012. The 3200 has been contested since 1977 and her time would have won every year except for 1981, 1983, 1984, 1996, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013.

Her times alone are impressive but together, they are remarkable. Could be best 1600/3200 in state meet history.

All three were on sub 4:40 pace before the fall. Even Robinson walked stopped and walked a bit. It was going to be an epic finish. Accident's happen but it really was between Roninson and Maxwell. Everyone is saying Robinson clipped her heals but she was in lane two. Collins stumbled from fatigue and took down the front runner. Don't know why Collins was running up on the back of someone like that the whole way.

I am willing to wager good money that Blair Hurlock will break 4:00 for the 1600 as a college freshman. (Red-shirt or regular freshman year). If he does not, its a $100 donation to XC Express, if he does, it will be a $150 donation. Any one else out there willing to make a wager-donation on a performance by a top athlete? Come on, Show your real support for an athlete and Albert's hard work at the same time!!

Probably mile or 1500 equivalent? Thanks GHPADD.

GPHADD/Albert,

Does a list exist of NorCal sub-4 athletes? Fernandez, Stember, Olson are a few off the top of my head and there have to be others.

BTW, Campo's Thomas Joyce has run 3:41.28/4:00.49 so far for Cal this season and will run the 1500 at NCAAs this week.

Anyone have a link to videos of the state championship races? I'm after the boys 3200 in particular. Thanks.

Response to Albert:

Yes, 1500M, mile or any other equivalent of a 3:59.9 1600 will decide my amount due $$$$$!!

@GHPADD

I would take it on if I had the moneys. Coaching high school cross country and track just isn't as lucrative as it used to be :p
