If I remember correctly, the Jesuit boys record is 9:56, run by a team with both mastalir brothers.

Correct.

That is still a pretty good time...

Alexandra Klos from Vista Del Lago ran a 4:54 (new State Leader) at a dual meet vs another team.

On Wednesday at Bellarmine we ran an intrasquad meet--right at the end of which our school was closed down for three weeks!--but in that meet Gianna Mendoza of Pres ran a 4:59.48!! I hope all these amazing NorCal athletes can stay in shape during this important shut down, and that after health officials have determined it is safe to do so, we resume what i know would have been, and i hope will still be, a great season!

I spoke with Walt Lange yesterday, and the 10:01 is obviously not a school record, but it has to be a track record, and, according to the Jack Shepherd book, the earliest anyone has ever run that fast in a DMR in US HS track history!!

I hop we can all stay positive attitude and maintain a respectful perspective; this situation is frustrating, but it could be much, much worse, and it is much for worse for many--i am sure many NorCal track athletes' families are impacted economically in a very adverse way by this!
