Coach,
We invite you to join us for The Night of Two-Mile Madness at Santa Rosa Junior College on the
evening of Friday, November 13, 2015. This is a great opportunity for
all high school cross country athletes to test their track speed when they are
at the peak of their fall fitness. We are presenting this event as an
opportunity for high school teams to also take part in the HOKA One One
National High School 2-Mile Postal Competition. It also provides NCS Cross
Country participants with a way to stay race sharp prior to the championships
the following week. The meet will also be covered and broadcast by
Runnerspace.com.

I'd like to see what time Cooper Teare could drop after that 14:52 5k
Doubt many high schoolers will show, it is the day before sections for a lot of schools.
Actually the majority of the schools in that area are in NCS which will have it's championship a week later.
We have 18 schools signed up already, but we still want more! Don't miss out on this incredibly fun and fast night of racing!
How smart is it two race a two mile time trial on the track a week before before NCS? Serious question, I would like to know coaches and athletes opinions?
Teams do time trials at different points in the season. This just happens to be publicized because of the sponsor. With a two week break between the league meets and the NCS meet, a TT helps bridge the gap for most athletes. A 2 mile TT trial is also a nice change of pace from XC and I don't think as grueling as a 5k XC race.
One thing to consider is only seven members of a team get to race at the section meet. I think this would be a great "post season" opportunity to hit a PR for majority of runners done after league meets.
The runners will most likely do this in practice anyway, if not more mileage at a faster pace. I don't see any harm as long as runners who may have potential injuries were to run
Any sub 9:45 guys racing or confirmed?
