Sarah Robinson - 10:28
Steven Sum in 8:35
It's gonna come down to Steven Sum and Chris Foster... Winning time no faster than 8:40. I'm leaning towards Sum but if Foster is anywhere near him on the last lap then I go with Foster. Watch out for George Miao too, along with some rising stars (future CCS Champions) in this race.
Colin Burke
Morgin Coonfield: 9:59
Sarah Robinson 9:42
I think Robinson is the favorite to win the race based on her PRs and season to date. The boys seems to be a toss up since a lot of the better runners are either running in the DMR or the mile the next day.
Boys? Not sure.
Girls: Morgin
Last year in the 3000 there wasn't a fast heat and a slow heat, they were split pretty evenly. I'm not familiar enough with this year's entrants to know if this year there is (but if so, that is good).
I'm more interested in the "better runners" who have opted for the mile. How do people think that is going to shake out?
I'm surprised that Sarah Robinson is running the 3000 on Friday and then the 1600 on Saturday.
I think that she is one of the few entrants who could challenge Anna Maxwell in the 1600.
Is Bethan Knights running?
Is Julia Maxwell running well?
Anyway, I think Sarah Robinson will win in 9:58 (=10:18 3200?)
9:58 (=10:18 3200?)
No, 9:58 is closer to 10:38 for 3200.
To: 12:31 PM,
Thanks for correcting my math. I knew something didn't seem right. I messed up the math...didn't use any charts. I'm more familiar with 3200 times than 3000 times.
In that case I'll predict a 9:40 time for Sarah Robinson (If she gets pushed)otherwise 9:48.
Albert,
Any idea if the mile heats will be available before Saturday?
Conversion from 3000m to 3200m is 1.0737 so a 9:58 3000m is closer to 10:42. My guess is Robinson in the mid 9:40s with Coonfield pushing her.
The heats are usually not available before Saturday.
Correct on the conversion from 3k to 3200 if you use 9:58 but remember that she has already run 9:49.94 earlier this season in another 3k.
Hamid, Sum, Anderson, foster
