  4. I was once the co-meet director for the Class A meet and the meet was held at Diablo Valley College. When we got there that morning, we found out that they were repaving the parking lot. There was a nice cloud of tar smoke hovering over the meet throughout the day. Then our timer was trying to get to the track with the closed parking lot and just made it to the meet. We were ready to hand time the meet. They didn't have enough starting blocks for each lane and were short of hurdles as well. Not exactly ideal conditions but we managed to get the meet in and my kids had some really good performances so that was a plus.

  5. Any reason why the the NCS's MOC moving to Diablo Valley? There seems to be an open schedule in Berkeley for those days. Was it cost?

  6. With the week move up in schedule this year, MOC on the 18th falls during Cal's Graduation weekend.

  10. With the week move up in schedule this year, MOC on the 18th falls during Cal's Graduation weekend. That is not the reason it was moved to DVC.

  11. From what I understand from the NCS Commissioner is that Cal hiked up their price for use of Edwards Stadium and is now too high to justify the cost.

  12. As far back as I can remember, the NCS MOC meet has always been at Edwards Stadium. Having the meet at DVC is certainly a let down and very disappointing.

  13. MOC's were at Chabot in 1998 and 1999

  14. Definately a let down to not be at Cal. Sounds like NCS needs a heads up about past issues. Parking on Friday is going to be an issue too with DVC and College Park in session.

  15. Parking at DVC will be nowhere near as bad as parking in Berkeley on a Friday.

  16. I second the finding parking on a Friday in Berkeley...not fun!

  17. Definitely a problem with parking in Berkeley especially with their new swim center. However for spectators taking public transportation like Bart is a huge plus.
