  • Parking - We are asking that everyone that arrives before 11:00 AM to park in the Dublin High School parking lot along VILLAGE PARKWAY and NOT in the parking lot along Brighton Drive.  Our DHS senior recognition ceremony is happening in the sports complex next to the track and field stadium until 11:00 AM and we would like to reserve the Brighton Drive parking lot for that.  There is also overflow parking available at the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints along Village Parkway directly next to the DHS Village Parkway parking lot.  We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

    Jake Grimsman (co-state leader in High Jump - 7'3''), senior at Vista Del Lago (SJS), no-heighted in divisionals. Shame...

    Nursing an aggravated ankle from Stanford Invite when he went for 7'5'', he did move on from league champs. His usual opening attempts are 6'6'' to 6'8''.

    On a more positive note, I wouldn't be surprised to see him at NCAA champs next year, representing BYU. His prep PR is a NCAA D1 Auto-qualifier.

    Yep, he jumped 7'3'' but he tweaked his ankle on his 7'5'' attempt

    Hard to pick heat winners, especially in the 1600/3200 heats since you get through if you finish top 4 in each heat plus 4 fastest times. Why would you run full out to finish first when 4th would do and you can save yourself, especially if you are doubling? That being said, the list above are the favorites in each of the heats.

    The best runners are used to winning even qualifying heats. There was a study done on this. Look it up.

    Looking at the Men's 1500m at past Olympics-

    16' Rio: Centrowitz did not win his qualifying heat

    12' London: Makloufi won his qualifying heat

    08' Beijing: Willis did not win his qualifying heat

    Both of you have a point. If doubling, it makes sense to save yourself a bit, especially considering that the top 4 move on BUT being competitive is engrained in the brains of these great young athletes. It's hard for them to try and not win, even if it's just a qualifying heat.

    Robert Miranda is ranked higher than MBR in heat 1 of the 3200 but I agree with Albert's pick, mostly because I agree with 12:43 - Rob is smart and does not go for the win when he doesn't have to. Don't count out Kumar in heat 2.

    Grades for Albert’s heat winner predictions: Girls B-; Boys D+. Looks like 12:43 above was right, with the exception of the call on a 1600/3200 doubler not going for heat wins. Colonna took both his heats and ran the fastest 1600 and 3200 times of the day.
