  1. Not sure who they bump but I trust you considered:
Jorge Estrella, Andrew Hill (14:31 solo effort at Montgomery Hill)
    Ryan Ma, Homestead (15:14 3M @ Woodbridge)
Garrett MacQuiddy, Westmont (16:00 @ Toro Park, 15:43 @ Crystal)

Saul, Renati and Medearis seem to be a little too high on the list, strong runners but not sure the last 2 are Top 10.

  2. I like that Renati is in the top 10. He's definitely a sleeper. Went for broke at toro which is why he only ran 16:20. But then 15:26 at pac tiger and then 15:35 at Woodward! Solid. I was wondering when he was going to get his credit.

  3. I looked up stats on Renati & Medearis. They ran 15:26 & 15:30 for 5k at Pacific Tiger, practically identical to Walker, Kumar & Colonna who are all ranked ahead of them. Renati ran 15:35 at Woodward losing in a sprint to MacKenzie (also ranked ahead). Medearis ran 15:55 easily winning Roughrider at Woodward Park. I think those performances are superior to the Woodbridge & Crystal Springs marks you mentioned. Though I do think Estrella will be top 10 by the end of the year but has been out with injury and just hasn't run on a known course lately.

  4. He may have not raced as many high profile meets, but Estrella should definitely be top 5. His 14:31 at Montgomery Hill alone converts to 15:17 at Crystal. Qualifying to 1600 final in track may not apply to XC, but there are zero signs he's slowed so it's should count for something.

  5. Id also add Ryan Wilson to the mix.

  6. All good comments so far. Estrella should definitely somewhere in the top 10. He has just been very under the radar.

I actually had Ryan Wilson in my original top 10, he was definitely in there as well. Same for MacQuiddy of Westmont. Ma's time is from the ridiculously fast Woodbridge Invite but nonetheless very impressive.

Renati and Medearis should be in the top 10 as well. Renati has been very impressive so far this season. Medearis ran 9:21.22 last spring in 3200 and as noted, won the Rough Rider after a very sporadic week of training.

  7. Sam Craig ran 15:41 and Marco Dal Canto ran 15:43 at Clovis. It should also be noted that the champ race was almost 2 hours after the div3 race where Owen Mackenzie and Joe Renati ran 15:30s.

  8. @9:39 what is the impact of the 2-hours between the champ and Div3 races? I didn't understand that comment.

  9. Overall times at Clovis were faster than usual. I wouldn't put too much weight on those times similarly to WoodBridge unless the kids ran head to head which makes more sense and that's what Caruana did here. Again, these are just rankings, they don't mean anything but it's a good guide for what to look for in the future races, especially in November.

  10. Why are times at Clovis faster than usual? It looks like the times in the championship races are by and large consistent with those from previous years.

  11. Times aren't faster than "normal." People just ran fast.

  12. Renati was beaten by Garcia in their first head-to-head match up. Maybe switch the two, Dal Canto also should also be in contention to be up there as the wild card. Both 10th graders. Great races all around! But those would be the changes I would make if I was in charge. Then again, I'll leave it to you! I'm just a fan of NorCal XC!

  14. Is Andrew Hill now D2?

  15. Andrew Hill is now in Division II.

  16. Sam Lavorato just ran 15:08 at Mt. Sac. He should move to top 5.

  17. Richardson’s G.O.A.T. statement just got a lot more validity.

  18. Before today I thought state was Meika, Anderson, Hazel and then a gap to about 20 boys who were all bunched and any given day could win. Now, I think it's Meika, then a gap and about 25 boys. Should make fun state races. And NoCal could win a few individual and team state titles

  19. I’d think top 3 in history of CCS races. Using Hank’s conversion tool you get 14:31 at Crystal and 14:49 at Woodward. That puts Kingery as the only one faster, and maybe Guisto’s 84 National title as a bigger win.
