Who had the biggest individual breakthrough? How about teams that came from nowhere and others who bombed? Who's the best runners and teams that didn't make it?
How about Liz Lacy. She's the story of the year. From very fine 18:34 Crystal Springs time to an incredible 17:00, and 17:21 at Toro. Fastest at CCS by 37 seconds!
Looks like best teams that just missed, you would have to start with St. Francis (boys), Homestead (boys), Carlmont (boys), Gunn (girls), Los Altos (girls) and Lynbrook (girls).
Fastest individuals to not make state: Kevin Anawalt Los Altos 16:14 Max Sawyer Homestead 16:17
I agree with Lacy being the story of the year. She now has faster times (at Toro Park and Crystal Springs) than Nikki Hiltz, Anna Maxwell and Sarah Robinson! Also the Aptos girls...now fastest at Toro Park, fastest CCS team and second fastest overall (40 years?) at Crystal Springs.
Congrats to you and your team!

ReplyDeleteHow about some true analysis here!

JJ Escalera Fremont 19:12
Bryn Carlson Palo Alto 19:15
The biggest surprise winner for me was Roman Munoz of King City. He wasn't even their #1 runner going into the race.

I agree 100% with Anonymous @ 7:35 p.m.
ReplyDeleteLizzie Lacey's performances the last two years are absolutely astounding.
Aptos girls are very, very impressive.
If Matison doesn't leave Carlmont the Boys D1 team score would be Carlmont 46, Bell 47. It's sad the battles are over.
